The Wheatsheaf is a family run cosy, comfortable Country Inn with exquisite food. It is the place to stay when visiting the Borders with a choice of 2 dining spaces (Sun Room or "Dining Room) overlooking the Swinton green, the dining experience is relaxed and informal, with efficient yet friendly service from our long standing team.

The Wheatsheaf kitchen consistently performs to a high standard and has been the first choice for many local diners when looking to enjoy that "special" occasion. Listed in all the main guides, including The Good Food Guide & Michelin Guide.

The award winning Wheatsheaf kitchen has achieved 4 Gold Medallions for outstanding standards in food service and ambience from VisitScotland.

We source fresh seafood from Eyemouth harbour just 12 miles away, Scottish Borders beef, lamb and organic pork from local traditional butchers. All our Beef purchases are Prime Scotch Beef and are fully traceable. Fresh fruit and vegetables come from local growers.

According to the season wild Salmon, Venison, Partridge, Pheasant, Woodcock and Duck add a local taste to the menu.

All our menus depend on the freshest of local produce. Vegetarians, Gluten free, Coeliacs and children are all catered for with additional options on request. Our Hotel menu is supplemented by daily blackboard specials and the menu ranges from wraps and sandwiches to fillet steaks and sharing platters – something for everyone, whether you want a light bite or a 3 course meal. All freshly prepared to order. Available every night from 6pm and Saturday lunch from Noon to 3pm.
